Image from flikr (this didn't work in my own journal)

[personal profile] domtheknight successfully posted a photobucket image in a comment, so we'll test that too.

Another test, yo:

re: community invitation. I was invited, accepted and immediately granted posting access. Moderating worked, and now I've edited the post without trouble. Go Dreamwidth!

ETA: attempting to edit in the HTML window works like a charm.

I have it set up for heavy moderation. I'll let it run that way for a few posts and comments, then experiment with different combinations of settings.

I'm away from home, using Internet Explorer on (I think!) an XP box, and I cannot either image yet.

Did you use the RTE or the HTML editor?

[img] code doesn't work in DW, that's for boards that use BBcode.

Photobucket also has a 'hotlink' option that has the [img src=] tag w/ the angle brackets. The link you have in the img src is the photo page, not the photo itself.

I don't know a lot about Flickr, b/c I don't use it, so I don't know if they provide the tags or not, but this is the correct URL for the image:

[img src=http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3491/3253035989_1d62b46a16.jpg?v=0] - use that w/ the angle brackets on both ends and it'll work

huh - that's weird.

I assume you were using the HTML editor, since you did the code yourself? Or did you type the code in the RTE? B/c the RTE doesn't parse code properly.

Images only show as the html code for me.

Yeah - if you use the RTE and try to enter HTML - it doesn't parse it as HTML. And we've been having issues w/ the RTE not functioning right - like, not letting ppl comment, etc. So that could be it.

indeed!

Some comms will even require cut tags if images are over a certain size.

Sometimes there are auto-thumbnails too. *g*

I see the photobucket photos, but not the first one, from flikr.
